imagine yourself floating so deep in space that you cannot even see your hands, and the blue and yellow and red stars spotted in all directions are the only assurance that you exist.
it's probably very quiet, too.

I think it's slightly frightening to think about. Surrounded by beautiful things, but pondering your own existence in relation to them. The silence would be the worst- to be stationary in silence, your only company being your own thoughts. *shiver*
Have you ever read Ray Bradbury's "Illustrated Man?" If you haven't, I think you'd really enjoy it (because it discusses things like that). :)
